How to renew Niva Bupa’s Group Health Insurance Policy

One should renew its group health insurance policy (also called Group Health Insurance for Employees) to avail last year policy’s benefits. For renewals, SecureNow’s renewal team contacts the client 90 days before the policy’s renewal date, send reminder emails to customers, twice, 23 days and 7 days before the due date of the renewal of the policy. The client is supposed to revert to our emails and calls and confirm if any deviation is required in terms and conditions or we can proceed with last year policy’s coverages. Also, the client is supposed to make the payment for renewal, timely to ensure the renewal gets done without any break in policy. The policy copy gets issued offline at customer’s registered email id once the client has made the payment.

To renew a Group Medical Coverage Policy (other than Niva Bupa’s), the client is supposed to send last year policy copy, employee data and active data of this year along with updated claims MIS to us at support@securenow.in. We will get back to you with quote and help you close the deal. How to file a claim under Niva Bupa’s Group Health Insurance Policy?

The claim process under Niva Bupa’s group health plan for employees are of two types:

In case of network hospital : If the insured is visiting a network hospital, one that Niva Bupa has tied up with, he/she is entitled to get cashless hospitalization. This means that the customer needs to show his/her medical card and he/she can avail the benefit of cashless service. Niva Bupa will directly settle customer's hospitalization expenses with the hospital subject to complete documentation. To avail of this, it is mandatory to intimate us (Niva Bupa/broker) within 24 hours of admission or before the discharge from hospital/nursery home. Here, the notification of claim means informing about the claim to the Niva Bupa specifying the timelines along with your address/telephone number at which the insurer can contact you. The cashless process is available at network hospitals only as mentioned in your policy copy.

In case of non-network hospital : : In case the treatment takes place in a non-network hospital, i.e., not in the network of the Niva Bupa then the client is entitled to get the reimbursement claim settlement and the client is required to give a written notification of the claim, immediately, and in any event within 24 hours of the illness/injury. It is necessary that you consult a doctor and follow the recommended advice and treatments.

Standard Exclusions of Niva Bupa’s Group Medical Insurance Policy:

i. Breach of Law: Expenses for treatment directly arising from or consequent upon any Insured Person committing or attempting to commit a breach of law with criminal intent.
ii. Treatment for alcoholism, drug or substance abuse or any addictive condition and consequences thereof.
iii. Hazardous or Adventure Sports: Expenses related to any treatment necessitated due to participation as a professional in hazardous or adventure sports, including but not limited to, para-jumping, rock climbing, mountaineering, rafting, motor racing, horse racing or scuba diving, hand gliding, sky diving, deep-sea diving.
iv. Investigation & Evaluation:
a. Expenses related to any admission primarily for diagnostics and evaluation purposes only are excluded.
b. Any diagnostic expenses which are not related or not incidental to the current diagnosis and treatment are excluded.
